Donate to Flood Relief

Our hearts are broken for all those impacted by the recent floods in the Texas Hill Country, especially families who lost loved ones or are waiting for word on those still missing.

On Monday, we received this notice (CLICK HERE)
from our Annual Conference. It contains an update about how the Oklahoma Annual Conference is responding and a link to donate towards relief. This week, we also received notice about how our Annual Conference is strengthening emergency response plans at all of our United Methodist campgrounds in our state.

You’ll have a chance this Sunday to donate to Texas Flood Relief as we seek to do what we can to offer help and compassion to those who have lost so much. If you’d like to see how the United Methodist Churches in the area are responding, CLICK HERE to watch a report from the United Methodist News Service.

VBS was a Blooming Success!

Our 2025 VBS: Peace, Love, and Plants - Growing in God's Grace was a delight! We discussed the story of Creation, the Parable of the Sower, the Vine and the Branches, and finally the Fruit of the Spirit. Our crew of volunteers sang, danced, taught, and cared for over 90 children each night. This community event could not happen without the love and support of our congregation. From supplies, presence, and your prayers we were able to share the love of God with many children. As tradition, we also collected a love offering during this event. We raised over $1,000 for the Stillwater Weekend Foodsack program! Thank you for your generosity!

Looking forward to next summer already,
Irene Upson - Director of Children's Ministry

Greetings from Pastor Corey

In the name of Jesus Christ, Greetings!

I cannot believe it has only been 10 days since I officially began this new chapter with you all! In just that short time, I’ve been swept up in this community's energy, heart, mission, and faith in some truly amazing ways.

On my first full day, I traveled with the youth group to Oklahoma City for a mission trip at the Oklahoma Regional Food Bank. Then, almost immediately, I turned around to volunteer with many of you at our Vacation Bible School this past week.

I cannot imagine a better way to start my time here as your Associate Pastor than by spending it with our children & youth! Seeing all of you serve with such joy and purpose reminded me how alive and active the Spirit is among us. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention how truly heartwarming the welcome I received from our friends at Legacy was when Pastor Charla and I went to share Holy Communion this past Wednesday!

This Sunday I’ll be preaching my first sermon in this pulpit and I’m excited to share it with you. The message is titled “He Lives In You," drawn from Colossians 1:27, which says in part: “Christ in you, the hope of glory.” It’s a word of encouragement and challenge, about what it means to carry the presence of Christ not just around us but within us, even in the ordinary, messy, beautiful moments of life, and to recognize that presence in ALL people.

I want to thank you all for the warm welcome you’ve already given me. I’m so excited to keep walking alongside you, learning your stories, and discovering how God is calling us forward, together!

With grace and peace,
Rev. Corey Shirey
Pastor Corey at VBS

It’s phenomenal that one of our former OSU students and member of our college FUMC Sunday school class, Michael Carpenter, is now a nearby Methodist minister and has recently published a book! His wife, Rachel, Is also a former member of that class and is a local physician. How proud we are of both!
